The increasing awareness for the use of renewable resources is on the rise and everyone is looking out to do something that is good for the environment. Windmills are becoming more and more popular. You can now use your iPhone to determine where the windmills should be placed.
It is not a new feature in iPhone, but is a new app found in the app store. The iPhone app called windspire helps you to measure the speed of the winds. While this parameter alone is not enough to determine where to place windmills, it significantly helps you measure wind speed.
To use the windspire, you don’t have to be a scientist. Just hold your iPhone up in the air, parallel to the ground for 20 seconds. The app will then measure the speed of the wind and lets you know. You can then map the area and wind speed and share it with others. You can simply email the reading to your friends. This is by far the most easiest way to determine wind’s speed without the use of any kind of fancy equipment.
This new app in the app store is surely a welcome addition because it motivates iPhone users to go green. With the introduction of such an app, the public will be constantly looking for ways to go green and use renewable resources. Among the various smart phones, iPhone is the first gadget to include a new feature that supports use of turbine energy. Many more new features are to be added to windspire soon to take advantage of the feature rich iPhone 3GS.
