You can now read magazines that are being published by rival publishers that include Hearst and Conde Nast. These rivals are teaming together so that iPhone users and Blackberry users can read their high profile, best-selling magazines on their smart phones.

With over 50 different magazines and the ones that make this list like the Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, Time, Vogue, Sports Illustrated, People, O and Esquire will all be available with high digital quality for your iPhone. This update was bought into light by the New York Observer. A few other plans also include a digital store which is created on the basis of the iTunes digital store. In a few weeks time the announcements will be made with the other publishers on board.

The EVP of Time, John Squires will take over as the temporary CEO for this joint venture within the next six months itself. In the mean time they will be on the lookout for a permanent boss. The observer also mentioned, ‘It’s very close and more imminent than it’s been,” quoted the report by the Observer.

Not very long ago, Apple had been negotiating with various publishers about how they could deliver contents over the Apple Tables which in all likelihood would be launched only around next year.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that around last month Apple on its parts sent media companies a few specifications, attempting to know if they would be interested in helping deliver content to the tablet.

Citing this Herald said, “The tabled is tipped to be a larger version of the iPhone. It is small enough to carry in a handbag but too big to fit in a pocket. It will have a touch screen and be targeted at users who mainly want to surf the web, read books and newspapers or watch movies.”
